It is an electrical test instrument used to measure the high electrical resistance of insulation materials in cables, motor windings, transformers, and electrical installations. Possible Uses: Preventative Maintenance: Testing the health of wire insulation over time to catch degradation before it causes short circuits or equipment failure. Motor and Transformer Testing: Checking the insulation integrity between motor/transformer windings and the grounded frame. Cable Installation Verification: Confirming that new electrical cables have not been nicked, cut, or damaged during installation inside conduits or walls. Troubleshooting: Pinpointing the exact location of a ground fault or insulation breakdown in electrical systems after a breaker trips.
